Belamcanda (blackberry lily) from Hallson Gardens: We ship blackberry lilies in the spring from mid April through the end of May and we also sell them at the nursery in the summer. They are field grown plants with at least 2 to 3 growth tips, freshly dug, trimmed back and shipped bare root.

Belamcanda chinensis or blackberry lily is a great plant for the hot, sunny garden. It has iris-like foliage topped with orange, spotted flowers in summer on 24 to 36" stems followed by large pods which open to reveal black seeds resembling blackberries.

Belamcanda chinensis 'Hello Yellow' has yellow, unspotted flowers that bloom above compact, blue-green, iris-like foliage. The flowers reach about 18" high so they are much shorter than the species and work well towards the border in the hot sun garden.
