Spring Shipping Has Begun
Spring shipping is underway here at Hallson Gardens. New orders can be processed and shipped in about a week, or you can specify your specific shipping time in the comment field on the last step of checkout.
Remember, since all of the plants we sell are hardy perennials grown outdoors you can plant as soon as your garden drains well and is workable. You don't have to wait until last frost as these plants are hardened off and mostly dormant still, so they can be planted, watered lightly (most plants don't like to be over watered this time of year), and they will emerge with the rest of your garden.
If you have any questions don't hesitate to contact us. Since we are in the nursery and growing areas this time of year the best way to contact us is by email, or leave a message if you get our answering machine.
Thank you for your business!

Now taking orders for 2010
Our online catalog is now updated and we are currently taking orders for 2010. Shipping starts in April but we can hold orders until mid to late May and ship when you are ready to plant. Sorry, we do not have a printed catalog.
Our hosta and perennial plants are generous, field grown divisions and clumps, freshly dug and shipped bare root. Lily bulbs are imported from Holland and stored here at our nursery in Michigan in temperature and humidity controlled freezers. We carefully inspect all plants when they are shipped to make sure you are getting the best plants possible and we back up the plants with a 60 day guarantee. We believe you will find our plants are excellent quality and a great value overall but if you have any trouble with any plants let us know right away so we can correct it.
Please let us know if you have any questions or need anything else by emailing us or calling us at (866) 568-1474. Thank you very much for your support!
Sincerely yours,
Chris Wilson and Brian Hall

Hosta plants are updated for 2010
Hosta plants are currently updated for 2010 and we are taking advance spring orders at this time. Perennial plants, lily bulbs, and daylilies are being updated daily and all of our 2010 catalog will be updated over the next few weeks.
We do recommend ordering in advance to ensure the best selection, especially with our hostas. We will reserve your plants as orders are placed, not as they are shipped, so we can schedule your hosta shipment for April, May, or early June, or schedule your perennial shipment for April through mid-May.
Please let us know if you have any questions, and thank you very much for your support!

Spring perennial shipping comes to a close on June 1st
Another great spring shipping season is winding down and our last day to ship perennials is June 1st, however we DO continue to ship hostas and daylilies all summer long. Hostas are freshly dug and shipped with all of the foliage intact. We wrap the roots in wet paper towels and then seal that with a plastic bag. We then wrap the entire plant in craft paper and put them into a long, tall box.
The nursery is open all summer for walk in business, open 9am to 9pm, 7 days a week. Please note that "Out of Stock" means out of stock by mail. We still have many items available at the nursery.
Perennial shipping will resume the 2nd week of September.
Thank you very much for all of your support!

Spring Shipping Starts March 30th
The cold weather has finally broken here in Michigan and we will begin digging the week of March 30th. We continue to ship perennials through May and will ship hostas, daylilies, and sedum through the summer. Perennial shipping will then start up again in mid September through November.
When placing your order please indicate your preferred shipping date in the comment field during checkout. We encourage advance orders so you can get on our schedule. As we approach May new orders often take 2 weeks to process, so please order early.
If you need to reach us by phone the best time to call is in the evening as we are often outside in the nursery during this busy time. Or please leave a message on the answering machine and we will return your call shortly as we check messages regularly.
Thank you very much for your business!
Sincerely yours,
Chris Wilson, Hallson Gardens

Now taking advance orders for spring shipping!
Great news! We are now taking advance orders for spring shipments!
Our 2009 catalog is now updated here online and we are taking advance orders for April, May, and early June shipments.
When you place your order please tell us your preferred shipping date in the comment field on the last page of checkout. We typically thaw and dry out enough to dig around the last week of March but can schedule your order when you want to plant. Remember, our plants are field grown, cold hardy perennials, so you do not have to wait until last frost date to plant. In fact, it is often better to plant dormant plants while your plants are still dormant, so long as the soil is workable and not overly wet, then your new plants will emerge right along with your other garden plants, almost like they weren't even moved.
If you have questions about our plants, about placing an order, or need anything else, feel free to contact us by email or leave a message on our answering machine and we will return your call. Thank you for your interest in our plants!

Plant shipping is done for the season.
Winter has hit hard here in Michigan, so we are no longer able to dig and ship plants at this time.
Our 2009 catalog will be posted here online in early January and we will begin taking spring orders at that time. Shipping will restart around April 1st but advance orders can be scheduled up until the 3rd week of May.
Thank you for your past and future support. We really appreciate it!
Have a great winter!

Online Catalog updated for fall - shipping begins 9/22
The weather is finally cooling off so it is a great time to plant!
For the fall we have added Poppies, Peonies, and Hellebores, plus we have updated many other items for fall shipping such as lilies, pulmonaria, tiarella, phlox, etc. Just click on the category links found in the far left column. For perennials you can browse by botanical name, though common names are also listed. The number found in parentheses next to the name indicates the number of cultivars or varieties offered within that category of plants. A zero (0) means that we don't offer that item for fall, such as with the hardy ferns which don't take as well when planted late in the season.
Lily bulb and peony shipping begins October 6th, but just about everything else begins shipping September 22nd. You can order in advance at any time and we can also hold orders longer if you won't be ready to ship that soon.
Let us know if you have any questions, and thank you for your interest in our nursery and our plants!
Sincerely yours,
Chris Wilson

Shipping continues on hostas, daylilies, and sedum through summer.
Greetings!
Although summer is upon us we continue shipping hostas, daylilies, and sedum through August and then starting in mid September we will have other perennials available by mail for fall planting. Also be sure to check out our Specials! page often as we add things there all summer long.
Here at the nursery we are open 7 days a week from 9am to 9pm, including holidays, and there is a lot to see and a lot available at this time. We have close to 300 hostas to choose from plus hundreds of different perennials for sale, or feel free to walk through the growing areas and display gardens to get some great ideas for your own gardens. Spring Perennial Shipping Ending the week of May 27th!
The spring perennial shipping season will be ending the week of May 27th. Many items are now too sprouted to ship, however we continue shipping Hostas, Daylilies, and Sedum through the summer. Many perennials will be available for shipping again in the fall starting September 15th and the nursery is open through the summer 7 days a week from 9am to 9pm or dark.
Please note that when an item reads "out of stock" that usually means it is out of stock by mail. We have many things available at the nursery PLUS we grow and sell hundreds more plants at the nursery that simply aren't offered by mail as they don't ship well. Feel free to contact us if you see an item listed as "out of stock" but are planning a trip to see us and want to know if we have it for sale here.
Thank you very much for your past and future support. We really appreciate your business!
