Polystichum acrostichoides, known as the Christmas fern, has 24" dark green arching fronds with lance-shaped leaflets. It is a clumping fern that multiplies slowly from the base and it is evergreen, very hardy, drought tolerant, and easy to grow.

Polystichum setiferum 'Herrenhausen', soft shield fern, has 24 to 30" soft, triangular to lance shaped, medium green fronds that have a feathery appearance to them. They attract quite a bit of attention in our display garden and are one of our favorite ferns.
