Hi All--You know how it is when you are just cruising around some nursery, thinking you need at least one more hosta but you're not sure what variety you might get? Well, today's plant is the one for those times because, if you give it enough time and are willing to do a lot of dividing, Wahoo will probably end up producing a variety of varieties. This tokudama derivative is unstable. If you are not sure of what that means, go the the Hosta Library and look at the photos there for Wahoo. None of them look alike. So, buy a Wahoo and have fun. Our plant was added to the garden in 2000. Being lazy, I have not divided it and it is on the verge of becoming all green. I do have good intentions for this spring. (:-) Starting in 2001 its measurements have been 20x9, 31x10, 42x19, 46x15, 42x19, 48x22, and 50x18. Zilis lists it at 38x17 and Lemke lists it at 18x10....so who knows what to expect when you buy Wahoo. Slugs don't bother it.
