Classic look of a hosta that has been stepped on

I was looking for a picture of My Marianne from last season and ran into this shot and thought I would share it. This occurred during some construction early last season.
That's Collector's Banner with the damage.
But a month later you can barely see the damage.

they sure are tough plants - one of the main reasons I got hooked on hostas in the first place - you can ignore them, mistreat them... and they keep coming back!

I've got an area where I threw a bunch of crowns of lancifolia and Golden Tiara as I was clearing an area... just found a bunch of them emerging from the covering snow, all of them trying to send out new growth. Tough!
