Paul's Glory is one of my favorite hosta. A strong grower which holds up well into fall.

My 7 year old Paul's Glory had no margin this summer. I kept waiting for the center to lighten and the edges to darken and it never did. Has anyone had this problem with it? Could the whole thing have 'sported' in a season?

2016 update - I took a few divisions from around the side of this one (with a spade) in autumn 2015; so it's a bit smaller and there are a few very small leaves at the edges, but otherwise it's still doing well.

Are all of your hostas in pots? They look great!

Thanks, About 98% are in pots, Ireland is slug hell and I can only buy by mail order here and they can be pretty small so pots for a few years until they can cope in the wild so to speak. I really do like the look of them in pots too. You have quite an amazing and extensive collection.

  Pots it is!

I have quite a few in pots but in our Canadian climate, I have only about 50% survival rate over the winter if I don't bury them in my veggie garden. I'm getting too old to want to bury so many each year; so I'm reducing the number in pots where I can. I DO tend to grow new hostas in pots for a few years.
