Hosta of the Day - Kiwi Black Magic

Kiwi Black Magic is a sieboldiana x ventricosa cross. The flowers have the dark stripes of ventricosa.

I have had this plant since 2011. It's growing in poor soil but doesn't seem to mind. I think this is the first time I have seen it flower. That's mourning Dove to the right and Frances Williams in a trough above it.

The flower does not have the "bell" shape of ventricosa.
