Rain rain rain

Postby doublemom2 » May 26, 2010 9:50 am

Ugh! Enough already! I'm so ready for summer I could scream, but we have rain forecast for the next 10 days. Guess I shouldn't complain, but a little sunbreak would be nice every now and then :)

Bummer! I know how you feel. It rained in OK for about 10 days, though it was not constant rain, and I was beginning to think I would never see the sun! I suffer from light depravation badly  My sister and her family are traveling to Seattle this weekend and will be joined by our brother and his family from Oregon. They plan to go many places and then go "over the boarder" into Vancouver. Hope they take their raincoats and umbrellas!

Hoping the sun shines for you soon Andi!

Hi Karma, we are not getting quite as much rain as you are, we do get SOME dry moments. I should have the rain barrel Lew used to keep. Maybe I should get one, because as soon as I do, It will probably quit raining.

Rosemarie, We currently have 4 up and running but they have totally over flowed with all this rain. I had to run all the
extra hoses out to the hosta bed to empty them up under the pines where the rain doesn't seem to get to. The ditch
around the circle bed was totally full, so the back yard got a good drink of water. We have had so much rain I am
kicking myself for not getting the 7 other barrels up and running for the south side of the house, they would be totally
full!! They say another week of rain on the way!! Got to love the PNW for it's great rain!!

We have the strangest thing this morning!!!! Sunshine!! We had SOME rain for i9 days in a row and the rest of the days were gloomy in May..Even the birds were wearing rain coats. It was just weird!!! I don't think it is going to last, tho'. If it was like Camelot and only rained at night it wouldn't be so bad! But for the first time in the 34 years we have lived here, I have gotten tired of the rain. Oh well!!! I swear I saw a tiny umbrella out in the trees! It wasn't the squirrels, they have been here all winter. Maybe the chipmonks, they seem to be coming in. :P

Wasn't it great to see that shinny orb in the sky yesterday?? We are all a little pink from it this am, but we are under flood warnings this am. It's been coming down solid since early this am, our back yard is one huge pond! Funny to see the the circle bed above all the water!! Most of the week they say we will see more rain!! My hosta will be floating off soon.

And I had errands and birthday parties and martial arts. I didn't get to get out into the yard when it was sunny. It is supposed to be nice tomorrow. How I hope so. I will be in the MRI machine in the morning. Aren't you proud, Andi? But I confess...they called ME to set the appointment!

And I do too still have to water. At least in some spots because the cedars, spruce and Western hemlock suck up all the moisture and don't let much trickle down. Ugh.
