I don't see a problem w/ HVX!
Yes, that is still what I hear from the ones I can't convince that this is a horrible problem. It does not matter on their position. No amount of paper, links, testing, inspectors(dept. of Ag.) and info. seem to get through.
The only conclusion that may make a change is too:
Have a test done by Dr. L.
Publish the results in the local paper
Document and publish the info. you gave and dates

What are your thoughts?
I am unsure if this is a position I need to be in.
I am trying to protect my livelihood and the #1 perennial in America

Personally I wouldn't go quite that far as to publish information about individual nurseries. If you do, make sure you have enough proof to back it up for fear of libel issues. Sometimes all you can do is make a call to the dept of agriculture and report the virus issue and ask them to check the nursery out. It really is sad that it has taken so long for the information to get out about HVX, and many are still in the denial stages about it - others hope that if they ignore HVX it will just go away on its own

HVX do look interesting on a lot of hostas in the first months

What I do is showing how it looks later.. disturbed, collapsed tissue, brown spots ... showing the worst pics from Chris and the HL

My experience is that the state inspectors know nothing about it and care even less. I have told two of them about specific locations (vendors) where I have seen infected plants (obvious, visible symptoms) offered for sale and, as far as I know, they have not followed up. Of course my state is just one of fifty and I do not mean to malign the employees of other states.

I totally agree with Viktoria, there are some inspectors that need education. If more folks would do what Chris stated in just turning them in that would
be the best direction. Just make sure your ducks are in a roll first!
