Seven Container Gardens

This year I have seven container gardens. Three are planted with identical combinations and four are just willy-nilly.

Hey, three of those are new pots. I think they're 14 or 16 inches across. I may not use my terra cotta pots this year. These ones are fiberglass and look rusty. The pattern is called "Devonshire."

Of course, after browsing this sight, I realize everyone is thinking, "Big deal!" Well, for me, it is a big deal. I don't use small flower pots because they dry out so fast.

Midnight, it is a Big deal. Pots are not easy. To get the right combo is difficult. I love containers. It is fun putting them together sometimes it works sometimes is does not.

Have you considered putting some succulents in your terracotta pots?

I'm not happy with any of my pots this year. I was with some, but now they don't look so good. I wish I could have taken photos a couple of weeks ago, but I was way too busy. There they are (most of them) in the distance:

Mornin'! All of my combination pots are pretty sad looking this year too! I think it's the abundance of RAIN! I have beautiful geraniums in almost all of them....with a lot of other plants. The geraniums have really suffered being too wet.

Oh well....there's always NEXT year. Good thing I like challenges!......p

You aren't kidding about the geraniums and the rain. They've almost rotted even though I have drainage holes at the bottom and rocks under the potting soil. I thought I was doing something wrong but I didn't know what. :(

I think it was Alternanthera dentata 'Purple Knight' (Calico plant, Joy weed).
