Pic of the Day--Roy's Pink

Postby Hank Zumach » May 11, 2007 9:18 am

Hi All--I received Roy's Pink as a gift in 2002 and planted it in a spot that receives a little filtered sun. There is not a lot of information available for RP. Its measurements have been 14x6, 25x7, 28x7, 35x10 and 34x10. Zilis lists it as a medium sized plant. This is an unremarkable variety except for the pinkish color to its blossoms, from which it got its name. Slugs have not bothered it.

The first pic, from 2003, shows the pink-tinged blossoms.

Wow, those are some massive flowers! The flowers alone make it eye catching.

Oddly enough, I too received Roy's Pink as a gift in 2002 - I'll bet from the same folks. (BTW, haven't heard anything from Joval in some time...)

As Hank suggests, retty much generic green hosta... except for the blossoms. I would probably remove it if not for sentiment. But as a gift, it will remain in a place of honor for as long as I'm able to garden.
