Quite likely the borer has alternate hosts in the yard,or
maybe even next door. Well, I figured the zapper was worth
a try.

Here's last night's sample.

Still no show for the macronoctua onusta.

I found one of these little nasties hitching a ride inside a rhizome a friend sent me. Thank goodness they cannot survive in our climate. I tossed him to the fishes.

I put mine in the birdfeeder.....

This was taken the beginning of September, the last morning any moths
of significance were taken. A couple of mornings later the yield was totally insignificant.

No signs of any borers at this time as of today. A cold front arrived
yesterday, so all,if any, borer activity is now on hold until May.

Looks promising so far. The bed shown is a starter bed; hese divisions will be divided and set elsewhere next year.
About five varieties are shown.

Using the Stinger last summer seems to have paid off as of last week. Couldn't find any damage.
I do believe it's time to put it back to use now, though; for instance, here's last night's take ,after the third night this week. Nothing significant came up the first two nights,though- just mosquitos and small ones.

Looks as though I got one this time,judging from the looks of that dark one.
So -- the borer season is under way here in the lower Great Lakes region.

I'm glad that the Zinger is working for you. There is nothing so frustrating as waiting for plants to mature and bloom and then have them taken out by pests.
