Yes I have vegetable garden too along with a bunch of tropical's. Most of my orchids are Phalaenopsis and they require a moist growing medium and have watering them all the time as well. A lot of work.

I have a ground level watering fence in my veggie garden but it doesn't reach all my veggies and I don't water that garden from overhead for fear of imposing diseases on the foliage. My hosta gardens appear to be doing good, more shady than the veggie garden of course. Also planted a Cypripedium in my Hosta Garden just a few days ago and don't want it to die from the heat-so watering that by hand also. Problem being both those gardens are at the farthest end of my yard-trudging 2 gallon watering pails are a pain. Lets all pray for some rain.

We might actually get some rain today after a dry June and it's not supposed to break 90. I really hope it does. Keeping up with watering is going to kill me. I think we only have about 10 fires burning right now too.

Boops I see you said you got some rain yesterday. I watched on radar as those storms missed me here in the Poconos then rolled into NJ then NY and thought what the heck their always missing this area around Stroudsburg what is up with that? Right now thermometer shows 92 and it is humid but sooooo dry. All the weeds along the highways have turned brown and no rain forecast for another week. But rather have this then highs of 20 degrees and snow on the ground.

Half inch of rain after 6 weeks of no moisture I'm happy. Also a lot cooler. Think I will squirt some miracle grow on the plants tomorrow.

107 here today. Not getting any cooler, still no rain in the forecast. Is it September yet? Lol. My garden seems to think so, goldenrod is in full bloom. Looks like fall.

8th day of 100+. They were talking about 107 for today. I didn't even watch the weather man to see if actually got that high. Sounds like "maybe" Sunday it will get back into the 90s.
Twice a day watering on my potted stuff or it droops like it's dead. That and the Japanese beetles have made for an interesting couple of weeks.
I need a hat for my...less then full hair. The wife said she has to close the blinds while I'm watering in the back. :hmm: :hmm: ............. .....That's cold!

Ugh huge storm came from the northwest and completely missed my area. No rain for now forecast until possibly next Saturday. Watering sometimes twice daily is really becoming a chore but I refuse to let the lack of rain subdue my enthusiasm for this genera of plants-hostas so dependent upon copious amounts of water. I do like cacti and succulents but still prefer hostas.

Well Jon-that huge storm just hit us-its pouring out. Thank goodness-we needed it too. Was 100 here today and humid, but ground was soaking up water like a sponge. I'll send some back your way.
PS that huge storm also fried my Blu-Ray player :bawl:
