Hosta of the Day - Royal Flush

Postby redcrx » Jun 23, 2013 9:29 pm

The MyHostas Database lists this as a 'Fortunei' sport which I thought was odd when I read it. This looks nothing like a Fortunei and it is flowering too early for a Fortunei. Zilis in "The Hostapedia" writes that the origin is a sport of a seedling.

I think it is a great looking plant. I think it has better color with some shade - this one is growing in virtually full sun.

It has an all yellow sport named Straight Flush. I think mine is putting out a yellow piece.

Nice!

Thanks for the reminder that mine needs to get out of the pot and into the ground. :)

Royal Flush today - the same one as above.

This plant is getting huge. It's starting to overwhelm the azaleas.
