Hosta of the Day #3 - Quill

Postby redcrx » Oct 26, 2014 7:36 am

Quill is a small wavy edge hosta that comes form a cross of pycnophylla x yingeri. The write-up in the MyHosta database says it puts up a second scape out of the first scape - I haven't seen this. It would be interesting to see how much different it is from "normal" branched scapes.

I have Quill growing in a trough. It was one of the hosta that got me into troughs when one of my new gardens got destroyed by tree roots back in 2011. It was just a tiny fragment that's come back.
