Hosta of the Day - Patricia the Stripper

Postby redcrx » Feb 24, 2016 7:59 am

Patricia the Stripper is a "blue" edged sport of Striptease. The size is similar to Striptease and it retains the white strip between the center and margin. It is out of Budd Gardens in Canada.

It is similar to other Striptease sports like Kiwi Full Monty, Blue without You and Blue Striptease.

This plant has been mentioned a couple of times on this forum.

I have had this plant since since 2010.

Here it is in early 2012.

And a little later in a group setting - Patricia the Stripper down on the left and Kiwi Full Monty down on the right with Mata Hari in the middle. That's a small Gypsy Rose left of Mata Hari and Orange Rose top/left corner.

And here is the same plant a year later.

And coming into flower.

'Patricia the Stripper' was a sport in my friend Don Budd's personal garden. He owns a perennial nursery and has a special interest in hostas myself. His main location as well as his home are only about 15 minutes from where I live.
