Hosta of the Day - Tassels

Postby redcrx » Jul 25, 2014 12:37 pm

I didn't realize I hadn't put this up yet. It dawned on me I better put it up while I still have it. It is a very unstable sport of Striptease. I notice today that I have 3 different stable sports from it.

Here are photos from 2012 of 2 different pieces.
This first piece has stabilized into something similar to Striptease.

Here is that second piece this season. I dug it up to keep it from the voles. It has a stable piece - the three larger yellow edged leaves.

Here are the three sports:

The first and oldest I named "Pasties".

The second (unnamed) is that yellow edged form.

The third is a "dark" version that needs to grow out more to see what it really is.
(Sorry about the photo quality.)

Here is Pasties today. It is getting big quickly. I found a small piece of Tassels in the clump.

I thought this had reverted to a form similar to Striptease but it's showing Tassels coloration today.
