Helleborus 'Peppermint Ice'

Helleborus 'Peppermint Ice' is a large, double flowering hybrid strain from the Winter Jewels series of hellebores by Marietta O'Byrne. These multi-petalled flowers bloom in light shades of pink with a darker pink picotee edge. The double flowers hang down on upright stems in late winter/early spring and are great in the woodland garden. Hellebores tend to go summer dormant, though the foliage is evergreen, so they don't like water or fertilizer during the heat of the summer and prefer to be transplanted in the fall.

Height: 18 - 24" Spacing: 18 - 24" apart
Light: Deciduous shade Soil: Humus-rich, moist in spring, slightly dry in summer
Bloom Time: Early spring Zones: 4 - 8

The nursery is open!

We continue shipping hostas, daylilies, and bearded Iris through the summer and the nursery is now open every day from 9am to 9pm. We are located on the west side of US-127, 17 miles south of Jackson, Michigan, 1/2 mile north of US-12. Most GPS programs and mapping programs will place you 1 mile north of our actual location. We are open all holidays through the summer.

The week of May 15th was the last week for shipping perennials in the spring, other than hostas, daylilies, and bearded Iris which ship all summer, and we will resume shipping perennials the 3rd week of September. Perennials are too grown up to dig and ship bare root during the summer so orders for perennials placed during the summer will be scheduled to ship in the fall. Yes, we ship hostas all summer long and they will ship complete with their foliage. Hostas are warm season growers, putting out new roots in the summer, so they transplant very easily during the warmer months.

Feel free to email us or call us toll free at 866-568-1474 with any questions and thank you very much for your continued support!

Sincerely yours, Chris Wilson and Brian Hall, Hallson Gardens
