Hosta 'Blue Ivory' PP#19623

(Klinkhamer)

Clump Size: (M) 30" x 16"

Leaf Size: 7" x 5" -- Vein Pairs: 10 - 12

Description: Leaves are spear-shaped, powdery blue with a very wide, creamy white margin. It is a sport of Hosta 'Halcyon', much like a wide margined version of Hosta 'El Nino'.

Blooms: Pale lavender flowers in July.

Comments: The margins can turn bluish in containers or when under stress, so keep this hosta well watered and in plenty of shade to keep its fantastic coloring. It is very slow growing but when grown well it is a real knockout! Hosta 'Great Escape' is a similar plant.

Light: Part shade to full shade. -- Soil: Humus-rich, moist but well-drained soil.

Related Plants: El Nino, First Frost, Halcyon, June, Sleeping Beauty

Zones: 2 - 8

Slow growing but definitely worth the wait. Mine maintains its white edge well all season planted under limbed up mugho pines. It gets plenty of water all season.
