Hosta 'Blue Umbrellas'

(Florence Shaw 1978)

Clump Size: (VL) 54" x 36"

Leaf Size: 14" x 10" -- Vein Pairs: 18

Description: Leaves are large, oval and satiny, bluish-green turning dark green, reversed cupped and heavily ribbed, held somewhat upright in horizontal layers.

Blooms: Very pale lavender flowers.

Comments: This hosta starts out bluish-green and quickly turns to a dark green, so its name is a bit of a misnomer. It is a good grower and will form a very large mound when mature.

Light: Light sun to full shade. -- Soil: Humus-rich, moist soil.
