Hosta 'Dinner Mint'

(Zilis/Vanous 2011)

Clump Size: (S) 15" x 7"

Leaf Size: 3" x 2.5" -- Vein Pairs: 7

Description: Small clumps of slightly shiny, yellow to chartreuse centered, dark green edged leaves have attractive purple flowers in August on reddish-purple scapes.

Blooms: Medium purple flowers bloom in August.

Comments: This is a very attractive plant that seems to hold up well through the whole summer. In August the flowers provide a very nice display and make the somewhat subtle variegation stand out more. Though registered as having a bright yellow center we find that in the shade of our growing areas the center seems more of a chartreuse green, especially late in the year. If grown in some sunlight the centers should be brighter yellow.

Light: Light sun to full shade. -- Soil: Humus-rich, moist but well-drained soil.

Related Plants: Lemontini

Zones: 2 - 8
