Hosta 'Frosted Jade'
(Maroushek 1978)
Clump Size: (VL) 60" x 32"
Leaf Size: 14" x 10" -- Vein Pairs: 14 - 15
Description: Leaves are oval but very elongated, medium green with a narrow, tightly rippled, pure white edge, forming a very large mound.
Blooms: Pale lavender flowers bloom in midsummer.
Comments: Hosta 'Frosted Jade' is rather unassuming when it is young, looking similar to Hosta 'Francee', but as it matures the long leaves, that are held horizontally from the clump, develop a tightly rippled edge that makes it distinct from other white edged plants. The combination of large leaves, ripples, and very large clump size make this plant a standout in the garden and worthy of any collection.
Light: Part sun to full shade. -- Soil: Humus-rich, moist but well-drained soil.
Zones: 2 - 8
