Hosta 'Peacock Feathers'

(Zilis 2009)

Clump Size: (SM) 24" x 11"

Leaf Size: 5" x 4" -- Vein Pairs: 12 - 13

Description: Lightly cupped blue-green leaves form a medium sized mound.

Blooms: Multi-petaled (not double), pale purple flowers bloom in late July and August.

Comments: Hosta 'Peacock Feathers' is a cross between Hosta 'Gold Regal' and Hosta 'Blue Vision'. The color is blue-green in early summer but the leaves will be green by August. The real attraction is its potential for multi-petaled flowers. Normal hostas only have 6 petals but this one sometimes has 7 to 15 petals per flower, making for a unique flower display.

Light: Part shade to full shade. -- Soil: Humus-rich, moist but well-drained soil.

Related Plants: Gold Regal, Blue Vision

Zones: 2 - 8
