Hummingbird plants

These plants often attract hummingbirds to the garden, and the red varieties are especially attractive as red can't be seen by bees so there tends to more available nectar in the red flowers.

Hosta plants are also great for attracting hummingbirds, as are Lilium and Daylilies.

Nepeta 'Cat's Meow' (PP#24472) has a tidy, dense, rounded form and its small, gray-green foliage is topped with sky-blue flowers from early summer into fall. It likes hot, dry conditions and grows about 18" high and 30" wide.

    Nepeta 'Purrsian Blue'

    Nepeta 'Purrsian Blue' (PP#24788) forms a smaller, densely branched clump of tiny, green leaves covered with many periwinkle blue flowers with dark purple calyxes from early summer into fall. It like it hot and dry and grows about 14" high and 24" wide.
