LA lilies are hybrid lilies resulting from crosses between Longiflorum lilies (trumpet lilies) and Asiatic lilies. There are also Asiflorum lilies, which are the reverse cross of Asiatics and trumpets. These terrific plants bloom in June and July with long lasting, large and colorful, upward facing, thick petaled blossoms with a spicy sweet fragrance. A few cultivars grow about 24" high but most grow around 36 to 40" high. The bulbs are somewhat slow to multiply but are easy to grow and perennialize well in most areas. They prefer full sun to part sun in rich and loamy, well-draining soil in zones 4 to 8 (9).
LA lily 'Eyeliner' has pure white flowers with a faint maroon edge and maroon speckles towards the center. It is lightly fragrant and the flowers are long lasting on 36" stems. Bulb size: 14 - 16 cm
Availability: Ships late March to mid-May
Plant Size: Price per each 14/16 cm bulb
We continue shipping hostas, daylilies, and bearded Iris through the summer and the nursery is now open every day from 9am to 9pm. We are located on the west side of US-127, 17 miles south of Jackson, Michigan, 1/2 mile north of US-12. Most GPS programs and mapping programs will place you 1 mile north of our actual location. We are open all holidays through the summer.
The week of May 15th was the last week for shipping perennials in the spring, other than hostas, daylilies, and bearded Iris which ship all summer, and we will resume shipping perennials the 3rd week of September. Perennials are too grown up to dig and ship bare root during the summer so orders for perennials placed during the summer will be scheduled to ship in the fall. Yes, we ship hostas all summer long and they will ship complete with their foliage. Hostas are warm season growers, putting out new roots in the summer, so they transplant very easily during the warmer months.
