Moisture loving sun plants

These plants like to grow in the sun but they also like some extra moisture. Some of these perennials simply enjoy areas with a little more moisture than normal while others require it on a regular basis.

Asclepias incarnata

Asclepias incarnata, swamp milkweed, is a beautiful native perennial with clusters of upturned pink flowers in June and July.  The fragrant, vanilla scented flowers bloom on 24 to 48" stems and are a favorite of butterflies, hummingbirds, and bees.  Give it evenly moist soil for the best growth.
