New plants from Hallson Gardens for 2013: We are always trying out new perennials to bring you the best possible selection of worthwhile plants for your garden. Some of the perennial plants listed here are new plants on the market but others are simply new for us. We also often bring back older plants we have enjoyed in the past and think are worth another look.
When possible we try out plants ahead of time in our own gardens and in our growing areas. This way we are able to test vigor and hardiness as well as learn the best way to plant, grow, and maintain them. Sometimes these trial perennials never make it into the catalog, but that's simply part of our continued commitment to bringing you the best perennial plants we can possibly grow.

Alchemilla mollis 'Thriller' is a little larger and more robust than the species, forming an 18" high mounds of lobed, gray green fuzzy leaves that are topped by airy yellow flowers in June. It is best in moisture retentive soil in part shade.
