Aruncus dioicus

Aruncus dioicus is a large perennial with shrub-like proportions. It grows 3 to 4' wide and produces 5 to 6' tall, arching, creamy white astilbe-like flowers in early summer. Give them good, rich, woodland type soil and partial shade for best growth.

    Dicentra spectabilis 'Alba'

    Dicentra s. 'Alba' is the white blooming, old-fashioned bleeding heart. It forms a large, 30" mound of powdery green, cut foliage on fleshy stems and in spring has many long branches of pure white, heart-shaped flowers.

    Dryopteris affinis 'Cristata' "The King"
    Dryopteris 'Cristata' "The King" is a golden-scaled male fern with 36" tall erect and arching fronds that are leathery, shiny deep green with crested leaflets and terminals, giving it a frilly, ruffled appearance. It is slightly sun tolerant and very adaptable.

    Heuchera 'Rave On' (PP#18127) is all about flower power! Tight and compact silvery leaves with burgundy tones are covered with pink flowers for several months from spring into summer. It grows 8" high and 14" wide with 20" flowers. ALSO SOLD AT THE NURSERY IN THE SUMMER.

    Lamiastrum 'Silver Spangled' is a slow spreading groundcover with green veined, bright silver foliage that is covered with pale yellow flowers in early summer. They spread slowly but not invasively and work great to brighten up the shade garden.

    Tiarella 'Spring Symphony'

    Tiarella 'Spring Symphony' has pink buds that open to slightly fragrant white flowers which create bottlebrush spikes about 10" high in the spring.  The compact, clumping foliage has black markings along the midrib.  Tiarella prefers well-drained, acidic soil in semi-dry shade. (PP#12397)
