Sedum acre

Sedum acre is a tightly low growing groundcover topped with yellow flowers in the spring. It grows 2 to 4" high and spreads as far as allowed, looking great cascading over rocks or used between stepping stones, just trim away the excess. It is also evergreen, even in winter, forming a great weed smothering mass.

Part of the beauty of this groundcover is how easy it grows, though it really can be considered a weed because of its vigor. Fortunately it is very easy to remove from areas where you don't want it as it is shallow rooted, forming a thick mat of foliage.

Height: 2 - 4" Spacing: 18" apart, more or less as needed
Light: Full sun to part shade Soil: Any average to rich, well-draining soil
Bloom Time: Spring Zones: 3 - 9

Happy 2015!

We are happy to bring you our 2015 online catalog and hope you enjoy the new items and continuing selection of hosta and perennial plants. Although spring shipping officially starts in April for us, it is time to get your orders in now to reserve your plants for when we are ready to ship or you are ready to plant. Dormant planting is best done while the plants are still dormant and your ground is workable and drains well. Up here in Michigan our dormant planting time is early April. Many of our plants can ship in April to mid-May and transplant just fine, so that is our bare root shipping window for perennials. Hostas and daylilies are warm season growers that can be shipped all summer long and into the fall but you will want to preorder now for shipping in April, May, or early June. Just let us know your preferred shipping time/week at checkout.

When you pre-order for spring we normally do not bill credit cards until the time of shipping. However, if you want to pay at the time you place your order use coupon code PAYNOW5 and we will take 5% off your plant total. This coupon is good until March 17th, 2015. If you don't use this coupon we will wait and bill your card when we ship your order.

Lily bulbs are now updated for spring and while we have scaled back the overall selection from past years we think you will find that it is a great selection including many new and upcoming varieties. Lily bulbs are shipped from late March to mid-May and are shipped from our lily coolers where they stay fresh until you are ready for the shipment.

Feel free to email us or call us toll free at 866-568-1474 with any questions and thank you very much for your continued support!

Sincerely yours, Chris Wilson and Brian Hall, Hallson Gardens
