Tradescantia plants (spiderwort) from Hallson Gardens: We ship Tradescantia while dormant in the spring in April to mid-May, again in the fall as availability permits, plus we sell it at the nursery in the summer. They are field grown plants, freshly dug and shipped bare root.
If you have any questions feel free to contact us and we will be happy to help you. Thank you for your interest in our nursery and our plants!
Tradescantia 'Sweet Kate' has triangular, violet-blue flowers in summer over yellow changing to chartreuse green, grass-like foliage forming an upright clump 16" high and wide. The flower and foliage color make an attractive addition to the partly shaded garden.
Availability: Ships April to mid-May and again after mid-September
Plant Size: Field grown plants, freshly dug and shipped bare root
We would like to thank you for all of your spring orders. It was another successful spring shipping season and we will now continue to ship hostas, daylilies, and bearded Iris through the summer. The rest of the bare root perennials need to stay in the ground until fall as they are too actively growing to go cross country at the moment, so any new orders placed for perennials will now ship in the fall.
Hostas ship all summer and are always dug fresh. Each order is soaked for a period of time to allow the roots to absorb enough water to plump up the foliage, then the roots are wrapped in wet paper towels and covered with a bag. Your plants are sent in tall boxes to allow for all of the foliage. New orders for immediate shipping typically turned around in about 5 days, though sometimes sooner.
The nursery is NOW OPEN to the public 7 days a week from 9am to 9pm, including all holidays. We will close in October, depending on the fall weather, so if you are in the area we would love to show you around and help you pick out some plants. We are located on the west side of US Highway 127, 17 miles south of Jackson, Michigan, and 1/2 mile north of US-12.
Feel free to email us or call us toll free at 866-568-1474 with any questions and thank you very much for your continued support!
Sincerely yours, Chris Wilson and Brian Hall, Hallson Gardens
