Adiantum pedatum 'Miss Sharples' - maidenhair fern

Adiantum pedatum 'Miss Sharples' is a nice, compact maidenhair fern with delicate little fiddleheads that emerge an attractive, coppery-pink and then open to reveal bronzy-chartreuse foliage. The foliage ages to a chartreuse green but as each new frond appears it lends an attractive multi-color effect to the clump. It emerges 2 to 3 weeks later than other maidenhair ferns, so be careful when digging in the spring so that you don't break off the fine crosiers as they come up.
