Adiantum pedatum - Eastern maidenhair fern

The Eastern maidenhair fern or five fingered maidenhair fern has thin but sturdy, wiry black stems holding up feathery, circular fronds with three to five fingered branches that grow outward in a flat, fan-like position with each branch carrying 10 to 20 horizontal leaflets. It is a slow creeping spreader that will form a beautiful colony in time. Plant them in small groups for the best impact in the woodland garden.

Light: Part shade to full shade Soil: Humus-rich, moist but well-drained
