Baptisia 'Blue Towers'

Baptisia 'Blue Towers' forms a tall, 4 1/2' vase-shape clump with 20" flower stalks that carry large periwinkle to lavender blue flowers in early summer. This upright form allows space to plant around it and the height makes for a great background plant.  (PP#27088)

Baptisia is a member of the legume family so it has a pea-like flower and rounded leaves like sweet peas and lupines. They grow to shrub-like proportions but die back to the ground each winter. It grows from a very deep taproot and will develop a massive root system over time, but can be moved successfully when dormant in the spring and fall.

Height: 48 - 54" Spacing: 36 - 48" apart
Light: Full sun to part sun Soil: Any average to rich, well-draining
Bloom Time: Early summer Zones: 3 - 8
