Baptisia 'Brownie Points'

Baptisia 'Brownie Points' has unusual caramel-brown flowers with a yellow keel, flowering on 10" spikes in June above a bushy, rounded clump. It grows 3 to 3 1/2' high and wide.  (PP#26624)

Baptisia is a member of the legume family so it has a pea-like flower and rounded leaves like sweet peas and lupines. They grow to shrub-like proportions but die back to the ground each winter. It grows from a very deep taproot and will develop a massive root system over time, but can be moved successfully when dormant in the spring and fall.

Height: 30 - 36" Spacing: 30 - 36" apart
Light: Full sun to part sun Soil: Any average to rich, well-draining
Bloom Time: Early summer Zones: 3 - 8
