Baptisia 'Dark Chocolate'

Baptisia 'Dark Chocolate' (PPAF) has very dark purple flowers that blossom on tall spikes, well above the spring foliage.  While the flower color is the same purple shade as Baptisia 'Dutch Chocolate', this selection has much longer flower spikes. Like others in the Decadence™ Series is a more compact selection, growing 3 1/2' tall and wide.  It is also a Proven Winners® perennial selection.

Baptisia is a member of the legume family so it has a pea-like flower and rounded leaves like sweet peas and lupines. They grow to shrub-like proportions but die back to the ground each winter. It grows from a very deep taproot and will develop a massive root system over time, but can be moved successfully when dormant in the spring and fall.

Height: 42" Spacing: 36" apart
Light: Full sun to part sun Soil: Any average to rich, well-draining
Bloom Time: Early summer Zones: 3 - 8

Can I order the Dark Chocolate Baptisia for shipment in the spring? Or can it be shipped in fall?
