Geranium x magnificum

Geranium x magnificum is an old hybrid hardy geranium that is covered with many violet-blue flowers in early summer over deeply cut, hairy, rounded leaves that turn reddish in the fall. It forms a 2' mound, is sterile so it won't spread around, and prefers a cool location for the most blooms.

Height: 24" Spacing: 24 - 30" apart
Light: Part sun to part shade for best flowering Soil: Average to rich, moist but well-draining
Bloom Time: Early summer Zones: 4 - 8

This plant grows well in my central Iowa garden and is very low maintenance. It reseeds freely, but not enough to be called "invasive". The fall color is a bonus.
