Hibiscus moscheutos seedlings

Hibiscus moscheutos is known as swamp mallow but it is also very drought tolerant and does quite well in the average garden. We grow these plants from seed so they are highly variable ranging from white to dark pink, some with thin petals and others with overlapping petals, some with eyezones and others may even be blushed with a darker pink. They are nice 3 year old plants that grow upright about 4' tall and will get about 3' wide. We've seen some cross pollinating with other varieties so half the fun of growing these is that you never know quite what the flowers will be like until they bloom.

Height: 4' Spacing: 36" apart
Light: Full sun to part sun Soil: Humus-rich, moist but well-drained
Bloom Time: Summer to fall Zones: 4 - 9
