this is a beautiful plant and flowered all summer long. I was amazed at how it spread out and took over the space in the garden. I am not sure when or how much to trim it back for the winter. We live near Toledo, OH. Any help would be wonderful, and I will keep searching.

    Dear Mick,

The perennial hibiscus die back to the ground completely in winter, then emerge from under the ground the next year, so you can trim them back to about 6" in the fall or just wait until spring and then cut off or break off the dead stems.

    Hope that helps!

We had these planted in our landscaping last fall. What are the general care instructions for this flower? We live in southwest Iowa. Please be specific in your instructions.
