Hosta 'Andrew'

(Hansen 2006)

Clump Size: (M) 32" x 21"

Leaf Size: 9" x 7" -- Vein Pairs: 14

Description: Thick, corrugated and ruffled leaves have a wide blue-green margin and a white center.

Blooms: Pale lavender flowers bloom in midsummer.

Comments: Hosta 'Andrew' is a very pretty sport of Hosta 'Blue Mammoth' with a white center. In our growing areas it has shown that it holds up well through the summer for a white centered plant but it has been extremely slow to grow. Don't expect it to be anywhere as big as its parent, but if you are up for the challenge and have rich, acidic soil you won't be disappointed with it.

Light: Light sun to part shade. -- Soil: Rich, consistently moist soil.

Related Plants: Blue Mammoth

Zones: 2 - 8
