Hosta 'Autumn Frost'

Description: Leaves are spear-shaped, powdery to dark blue with a wide, bright yellow margin that lightens to cream as the season progresses. (PP#23224)

Blooms: Pale lavender flowers in July on dark scapes.

Comments: This sport of Hosta 'First Frost' has excellent blue color and a very wide bright yellow margin in the spring. It is comparable to Hosta 'Blue Ivory' but Hosta 'Autumn Frost' has a crisp, clean edge that shows great coloration all summer long in many garden conditions. Expect this plant to be a bit smaller and slower growing than its parent but much showier.

Light: Part shade to full shade. -- Soil: Humus-rich, moist but well-drained soil.
