Hosta 'Blue Mouse Ears'

(Deckert 2000)

Clump Size: (S) 12" x 8"

Leaf Size: 3" x 2" -- Vein Pairs: 8 - 10

Description: Leaves are blue-green, thick and rounded, making a very attractive and fast growing mound of foliage.

Blooms: Light lavender flowers are in dense clusters that rise just above the foliage in perfect symmetry with the clump.

Comments: Makes a dense mound and has an excellent flower display. Some say this is a miniature or dwarf hosta but with its excellent growth rate we think it will more likely be considered a small hosta. A sport of H. 'Blue Cadet'. Hosta of the Year for 2008.

Light: Part sun to full shade. -- Soil: Humus-rich, moist but well-drained soil.

Related Plants: Blue Cadet, Cat and Mouse, Frosted Mouse Ears, Green Mouse Ears, Holy Mouse Ears, Royal Mouse Ears

Zones: 2 - 8

It's just too cute! The nicest combination of leaf and flower I have seen. It has great substance and vigor too. A must have Mini.

Much bluer in spring than the picture above shows. The scapes are in good proportion to the plant. Mine does very well right in the ground. It also does not require any special treatment to keep its good looks.
