Hosta 'Clifford's Stingray' PPAF

(Clifford 2000)

Clump Size: (M) 24" x 16"

Leaf Size: 6" x 4" -- Vein Pairs: 6 - 7

Description: This very attractive sport of Hosta 'Loyalist' has dark green leaves with a thin white center with jets of white into the leaves.

Blooms: Pale lavender, tubular flowers bloom in midsummer.

Comments: Hosta 'Clifford's Stingray' is very similar to Hosta 'Americana', however it is a better grower and appears to form a slightly larger clump than Hosta 'Americana'. Part of the reason might be that the center tends to emerge a slight creamy white before turning to pure white, which might help to give it a little extra vigor. We are really happy with this plant and it is very popular at the nursery.

Light: Light shade. -- Soil: Rich, moist, well-drained.

Related Plants: Americana, Loyalist

Zones: 2 - 8
