Hosta 'Great Lakes Lighthouse'

(Wilson/Field/Hallson Gardens 2016)

Clump Size: (ML) 30" x 16"

Leaf Size: 7" x 6" -- Vein Pairs: 9 - 10

Description: Leaves are blue-green with a thin white stripe down the center.  The white becomes misty blue-green in summer with some new growth in summer having a yellow center.  The leaves often twist at the tips.

Blooms: Pale lavender flowers bloom in midsummer.

Comments: This Hallson Gardens introduction is a sport of Hosta 'Lakeside Shore Master' that differs from the parent by having a thin whitish center and wide margin. The center becomes misty blue-green in the summer and some summer leaves have a yellow center so it is highly variable through the year. It has been an excellent grower for us and each division taken from the original clump has stayed true to form and they have multiplied well. Tissue culture production without permission is prohibited!

Light: Part shade to full shade. -- Soil: Humus-rich, moist but well-drained soil.

Related Plants: Lakeside Shore Master

Zones: 2 - 8
