Hosta 'Guardian Angel'

(Thompson 1995)

Clump Size: (VL) 48" x 30"

Leaf Size: 16" x 10" -- Vein Pairs: 12 - 14

Description: Leaves are heart-shaped with a distinct point emerging with a misted white and green center and a blue to blue-green margin. As the season progresses the center will darken but new leaves will emerge with the light center for a nice contrast.

Blooms: Near white flowers bloom in July.

Comments: This attractive sport of H. 'Blue Angel' can be somewhat slow growing but will make a large mound when mature. The misted color will be more pronounced and last longer in cooler climates so it is best suited for Northern gardens.

Light: Part shade to full shade. -- Soil: Humus-rich, cool and consistently moist soil.

Related Plants: Blue Angel, Fallen Angel

Zones: 2 - 8

This is a very unique looking hosta in the spring, well worth having for its spring dispay alone. I'm looking forward to seeing mine get more mature.
