Hosta 'Illicit Affair'

(Anderson 2003)

Clump Size: (S) 24" x 10"

Leaf Size: 4.5" x 3.25" -- Vein Pairs: 6 - 7

Description: Small, rounded, chartreuse to yellow leaves develop a green center as the season progresses so by the end of the summer the leaves are green with a yellow edge.

Blooms: Pale purple flowers bloom in July.

Comments: Hosta 'Illicit Affair' emerges solid yellow in the spring so can easily be mistaken for H. 'Cheatin Heart' at that time. The green center darkens through the summer and helps it develop a larger clump faster than its parent.

Light: Part shade to dappled shade. -- Soil: Humus-rich, moist soil.

Related Plants: Cheatin Heart, Faithful Heart

Zones: 2 - 8
