Hosta 'Little Miss Sunshine'

(Scheer 2008)

Clump Size: (S) 20" x 10"

Leaf Size: 4" x 3" -- Vein Pairs: 5 - 6

Description: Leaves are chartreuse turning yellow with elongated, wavy leaves and wine red color on the base of the scapes. It becomes very bright later in the summer and seems to develop tougher leaves when grown in some sunlight.

Blooms: Medium lavender flowers bloom in mid to late summer.

Comments: Hosta 'Little Miss Sunshine' has great yellow color that intensifies through the summer and is accented by wine red color at the base of its flower scapes. Grow it in a cool and shady location with consistent moisture to keep the best color in the shade, or grow it in a spot with bright, direct sunlight where it will develop tougher leaves. In dappled conditions the foliage doesn't hold up too well during the heat of the summer so some sunlight does help it to grow thicker foliage.

Light: Part sun is best for this one. -- Soil: Humus-rich, moist but well-drained soil.

Zones: 2 - 8
