Description: Leaves are oval and cupped, blue-green turning green with white backs and a very distinctive, upright, vase shaped habit.

Blooms: Pale lavender flowers bloom on very tall, 5 to 6 foot scapes.

Comments: This distinctive, older hosta from Japan was once considered a species but after some debate it is now believed to be a cultivar of hybrid origin. H. 'Tenryu' is also believed to be another name for the same plant as they are essentially identical in color, shape, and blooms.

Light: Part shade to full shade. -- Soil: Humus-rich, moist soil.
