Hosta 'Pocketful of Sunshine'

(Walters Gardens 2013)

Clump Size: (S) 20" x 9"

Leaf Size: 6" x 4" -- Vein Pairs: 10

Description: Leaves are thick and leathery, rounded, cupped and corrugated, yellow in the center with a relatively wide medium green to dark green margin. (PP#23709)

Blooms: Near white flowers bloom in July.

Comments: Hosta 'Pocketful of Sunshine' is a wide margined sport of the very popular Hosta 'Rainforest Sunrise'. In our growing areas it has formed a very attractive clump and is nicely stable and has not been plagued with any of the production problems seen with its cousin plant, Hosta 'Tropical Storm' that was also introduced by Walters Gardens a few years back. We recommend adding Host 'Pocketful of Sunshine' to the garden to a little bright spot where it will brighten things up even more.

Light: Light sun to dappled shade. -- Soil: Humus-rich, moist soil.

Related Plants: Maui Buttercups, Rainforest Sunrise

Zones: 2 - 8
