Hosta 'Rain Dancer'

(Hansen 2007)

Clump Size: (VL) 43" x 24"

Leaf Size: 12" x 10" -- Vein Pairs: 13 - 14

Description: Leaves are large and satiny, blue-green early then turning dark green with a chartreuse margin that brightens to a creamy yellow.

Blooms: Very pale lavender flowers bloom in midsummer.

Comments: Hosta 'Rain Dancer' is an edge variegated sport of Hosta 'Blue Umbrellas'. The edge starts out greenish and if grown in some bright light will become creamy white but in the shade garden tends to be more of a creamy, greenish yellow. It is similiar to Hosta 'Singing in the Rain' (PP#19565) however the margin on Hosta 'Rain Dancer' tends to hold up better through the summer.

Light: Light sun to full shade. -- Soil: Humus-rich, moist soil.

Related Plants: Blue Umbrellas, Dancing Stars (PP#22611), Singing in the Rain (PP#19565)

Zones: 2 - 8
