Hosta 'Rhino Hide' PPAF

(Rawson 2007)

Clump Size: (M) 30" x 20"

Leaf Size: 8" x 8" -- Vein Pairs: 15 - 17

Description: Leaves are very thick and puckered, chartreuse to yellow in the center with a nice wide blue to blue-green margin.

Blooms: White flowers bloom in midsummer.

Comments: Hosta 'Rhino Hide' is a very attractive plant with extremely thick leaves which can make the leaves quite slug resistant. The parentage is unknown but it is likely a sport with Hosta tokudama in its background. Expect it to be a little slow growing so plant it in good soil and give it plenty of moisture for best performance.

Light: Light sun to full shade. -- Soil: Humus-rich, cool, moist soil.

Zones: 2 - 8

Love this little guy, best leaf texture and color, planted with Rainforest Sunrise what a nice combo for color and texture. You gotta get one if you already don't have it.
